Our client 7days, a provider of medical workwear in the B2B and B2C sectors, wanted to redesign its online shop. As a long-time customer, 7days was already using Magento 2 and wanted to keep the backend, but replace the Luma frontend with that of Hyvä. Hyvä has a better development environment, higher performance and allows for quick implementation. The goal was to implement an e-commerce solution that would be a step ahead of the competition through the efficient use of modern shop technologies.
The challenge in this project was to implement the shop for ten different countries while involving the editors more in content management. In addition, the UX and UI design had to be coordinated with an external agency. As the customer was under time pressure, the shop had to be completed quickly.
Hyvä
7days’ webshop was already implemented by basecom in 2017/18 based on Magento 2 and has been further developed and maintained since then.
In our current project with 7days, the implementation of the Hyvä frontend with Luma Checkout forms the basis for the first integration of the Hyvä Checkout in 2024. Compared to Luma, Hyvä enables much faster frontend development. In addition, automated front-end testing has been implemented to improve quality assurance. Thanks to optimized processes and a high proportion of existing customers, an exceptionally high checkout completion rate of 80% has been achieved.
Storyblok
The headless CMS Storyblok was implemented as part of the project to streamline content management and provide editors with an easy-to-use content management platform. Storyblok enables digital content to be created, consolidated and delivered across channels in a centralized manner, resulting in a consistent brand presence and improved customer experience. Thanks to its API-first architecture, Storyblok was seamlessly integrated into the existing Magento environment, creating a flexible and scalable solution. Storyblok’s visual editing interface makes it easy for content teams to share content in real time and collaborate efficiently. In addition, the system supports the internationalization of content, which is beneficial for the store’s multilingual focus. The implementation of Storyblok has significantly streamlined content processes and reduced the time-to-market for new content.
SEO
Extensive search engine optimization measures were implemented to ensure optimal visibility of the website. These include optimizing the site structure, improving page loading speed and implementing technical SEO standards. As a result, the site has a Google Lighthouse SEO score of 100. In addition, a data-driven approach ensures continuous improvement of the site’s performance and user experience.
At the same time, extensive analytics tracking was integrated to better understand user behavior and enable data-driven decisions for further optimizations. Detailed analysis of conversions, user flows, and abandoned shopping carts enables targeted adjustments to increase conversion rates and improve the shopping experience.
UX & UI
The user experience has been improved with advanced filtering logic for products with up to 20 colors. The product pages have been redesigned so that clicking on a color now directly loads new images for the user, which are vividly displayed in the product slider.
New functions and further optimizations
Another new feature is the direct order option for print catalog customers, which allows them to add products using their order number. In addition, comprehensive newsletter tracking has been implemented to analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and enable targeted customer retention efforts. In addition, shopping cart abandonment was analyzed to identify weaknesses in the checkout process and to optimize the conversion rate. To simplify product customization, the product configurator configuratorware was integrated. At the same time, import and export solutions were optimized to meet the new inventory management requirements.
The project was a complete success, as the new frontend was implemented quickly and efficiently. The customer is very satisfied and plans to develop the shop further with Hyvä and other new technologies in the long run.
The new store interface for 7days was implemented on the basis of Hyvä and Magento 2.
