The digital rental platform fleetloop.com is setting new standards in semi-trailer rentals and exemplifies the rapid and efficient implementation of innovative digitalization projects. In March, FLEETLOOP and basecom received the “Fastest Implementation 2024” award at the commercetools Partner Summit. Now, two more awards have followed at the MACH Alliance's Composable Conference in Chicago, clearly demonstrating that the project is making an impression internationally.
In our joint project with FLEETLOOP, we have implemented an innovative rental platform for semi-trailers for heavy commercial vehicles - a real novelty in road freight transport. FLEETLOOP offers logistics providers and transport companies an easy way to rent semi-trailers via a digital platform. Customers can see at a glance which vehicle is best located to handle an order and always have an overview of the status of their electronic rental contract and the vehicles. Trailers can be picked up or returned at any time, regardless of business hours.
Using the MACH approach, we implemented the platform as an MVP based on the commercetools cloud commerce solution and the headless CMS Storyblok in just three months. This earned FLEETLOOP and basecom the ‘Fastest Implementation 2024’ award at the commercetools Partner Summit in March.
At the Composable Conference in Chicago from April 22 to 24, 2025, FLEETLOOP impressed the prestigious jury of the 2025 MACH Impact Awards: The MACH experts presented FLEETLOOP with two awards: ‘Best B2B Project’ and the special ‘Grand Prix – Best Digital Experience’ award. This made FLEETLOOP one of the big winners of the evening, and our colleague Jon Dehne was honored to accept the awards in person.
FLEETLOOP is a joint venture between the innovative rental company Greiwing Truck & Trailer and the trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull. These two industry giants have joined forces to set a new standard in commercial vehicle rental. A free PDF of the case study on our joint project with FLEETLOOP, as well as a recording of a masterclass on the topic of “Reaching MVP with MACH speed”, can be found here.
MACH stands for microservices, API-first, cloud-native SaaS, and headless architecture. These technologies provide a modular foundation for developing digital systems that are easily expandable and adaptable. MACH aligns closely with the principles of composable architecture, best-of-breed, and the MVP approach. This enables shorter project times, lower risk, higher scalability, and the freedom to build digital solutions exactly as required.
