Assignment

JEANS FRITZ has been synonymous with down-to-earth fashion for more than five decades and is an established name in the apparel industry. With around 300 stores in Germany and a successful online shop, the company offers timeless casual wear for every occasion under its own brands Multiblu, Tom Tompson and TOM. JEANS FRITZ is also present internationally: in Switzerland, the subsidiary JEANS FRITZ Schweiz AG, known under the brand name BLACKOUT, operates 90 stores that also stand for high-quality fashion.

In the winter of 2021, Jeans Fritz decided to modernize its own online shop. The goals included a fresh, appealing design, a future-proof technological foundation, and a noticeably faster site load time to significantly improve the user experience. At the same time, the company wanted to develop an independent online shop for the BLACKOUT brand to digitally drive its expansion in Switzerland forward.

Thanks to the close collaboration and customized solutions, a modern, high-performance online shop was created to meet the needs of both JEANS FRITZ and BLACKOUT. The combination of technical expertise, creative design and practical implementation lays the foundation for a future-proof digital shopping experience – in Germany, Switzerland and beyond.

Challenge

A particular challenge in this project was the multilingual nature of the Swiss market: the online store for BLACKOUT had to work in German, French and Italian to meet the needs of all customer groups. In addition, the ship-from-store concept had to be taken into account, with the stores acting directly as logistics centers – a major departure from the centralized shipping system that was perfectly integrated into the Swiss market structure.

Solution

Adobe Commerce & Hyvä

The omnichannel e-commerce system was implemented using Adobe Commerce. Two websites were created in the same Adobe Commerce instance so that products, data, media and categories could be displayed in both channels.

Hyvä Themes and Hyvä Checkout were used for the shop front-ends and checkouts of the online shops to achieve optimal performance. By using the premium offering Hyvä Enterprise, all the storefront features of Adobe Commerce can be fully utilized. For example, Adobe AI Sensei is used for product recommendations and live search (search & category pages). The checkout has been customized to allow delivery for in-store pickup. The checkout also integrates the adyen payment platform and Boniversum risk management solution for credit and address checks.

The shops provide comprehensive product information on fit, material, care instructions and sustainability. In order to implement the ship-from-store concept, the product detail pages display queries on current store stock.

Various external tools have been integrated to optimize marketing and content workflows. These included links to the Bonus Club, a newsletter portal and the Inxmail email marketing tool, which were created for automated translation of product master data and content pages. The translation tool EasyTranslate was integrated.

Celigo

Celigo’s integration platform integrator.io is a middleware that enables data exchange between different systems. In our project with JEANS FRITZ / BLACKOUT, iPaaS (integration platform as a service) is used to ensure automated and predictable data transfer between ERP, OMS and Adobe Commerce.

UX & UI

A special feature of the new JEANS FRITZ / BLACKOUT website is its high design standards, expressed in a clear, modern look. The online shops are not only visually appealing, but also consistently user-centric.

UI services:

  • Creation of the online CI (typeface, colors, fonts, icons, buttons, etc.) and web design based on the rebranding specifications and implementation in Adobe Commerce
  • Very extensive screen design based on the mobile-first principle and adaptation of the Hyvä standard (template)

UX services:

  • Workshop to identify the target audience
  • Concept and wire framing of the online shops in a user-centered design
  • Developed a store finder and store order option to better meet the needs of the omnichannel shop users
  • Easy and intuitive to use on mobile and desktop
Conclusion

Our joint project with JEANS FRITZ was characterized by a very good and cooperative partnership. The comprehensive technical solutions that were developed, linked and implemented using agile working methods make this ambitious omnichannel project a flagship for the fashion industry. From our point of view, the result is absolutely convincing.

We look forward to continuing to work with the JEANS FRITZ team and supporting the project in the future.
