Assignment
AMAZONEN-WERKE H. DREYER SE & Co. KG is a traditional family business with more than 140 years of experience in agricultural machinery construction. With a wide range of products in the fields of agricultural machinery, municipal technology and digital solutions, the company meets the diverse needs of its customers. In agricultural technology in particular, AMAZONE impresses with innovative products for fertilization technology, soil cultivation, crop protection technology and sowing technology.
In order to improve service for its customers, the company wanted to create a new way for Hungarian customers to order wear parts. As AMAZONE was already selling wear parts directly to end customers by telephone in Hungary, the project was to start there. The aim was to gain initial experience with e-commerce for farmers. To do so, a B2B solution for wear parts was to be implemented on the basis of Shopify Hydrogen, as this solution offers a higher degree of flexibility for a custom frontend.
Solution
Shopify Plus
- Front-end structure in AMAZONE CI with the typical beveled header
- Customer login & registration via myAMAZONE SSO for retrieving customer data and machine park data
- Machine dashboard for displaying and selecting the relevant machine
- Filter and search for wear parts for a specific machine from the machine park or via manual entry
- A wide range of search options to quickly find what you are looking for anytime and anywhere (on the home page, in the header, etc.)
- Display of recommended additional parts so that, for example, the right nuts and bolts for a washer can also be ordered directly in the required quantity
- Automatic check of parts for machine compatibility
Middleware
- Development of an individual middleware solution based on Symfony
- Handling of product master data, stocks and order data as well as order fulfillment tracking
- database
UI/UX
- Design to match AMAZONE's existing websites and platforms
- User-friendliness, despite technical complexity: customers can find wear parts for their machines quickly, easily and intuitively
- High design standards: extensive screen design, adapted to customer CI and Shopify
UX Services
- Workshop to identify the target group
- Concept and wireframing in user-centered design
- Implementation of complex requirements due to technical dependencies
- Simple and intuitive use for mobile and desktop
Analytics
- Creation of a tracking concept
- Development of extended e-commerce tracking for more detailed tracking of user behavior
Conclusion
We are delighted to announce the successful completion of our joint Shopify Hydrogen project! Thanks to the excellent collaboration between the basecom team and the dedicated AMAZONE team, we were able to deliver an outstanding solution that exceeded all expectations. We are proud of the result achieved and look forward to continuing our collaboration and future successes together.

"The collaboration with the basecom team was excellent throughout. The methodical approach perfectly combined agile working and real-time coordination. The design focus was particularly impressive. Intensive conceptual work before programming resulted in a user-friendly and powerful store based on Shopify Plus, which also masters complex requirements such as the machine filter function for spare parts."
